Enable RDP via Registry

1) Start regedit.exe.

2) If you want to activate RDP on a remote machine goto File -> Connect Network Registry.

3) Browse Active Directory to locate the machine, or type the machine-name in the textbox, and click OK.

4) Naviate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server

5) Double-click on DWORD fDenyTSConnections.

6) Change the value of this setting to 0 to enable Remote Desktop or 1 to disable it, and click OK

7) Close the registry editor, and reboot the computer for the change to take effect

8) to reboot a remote machine open a command-prompt and type

shutdown -m \\remote_machine_name -r

There is a tool available to remotly activate RDP and change RDP-Port: RDP Enable Utility from Arconi SoftTools. (also in the General Tools & Utilities section in Public Software Downloads)
